This post needs to start with a
disclaimer: Julian and I are possibly the weirdest people to have ever existed,
fallen in love and potentially procreate (but not for a very long time!).
Valentine’s Day, as clichéd as it
is, has always been special to us
because underneath those hand callouses and that scowling face, Julian is the
ultimate romantic. For our very first
Valentine’s day, he bought me a pineapple with a big pink ribbon on it (because
he called me Pineapple) and made me run into Mimmo’s to order a pizza while he
went to buy marshmallows and juice at the Spar.
We had our “picnic” at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens on his duvet cover from his bed, because
I had told him once how much I love going to the gardens. Like I said, ultra romantic and ultra
weird.
This year, being our 5th
(!) Valentine’s together, was completely different. Firstly, we spent Valentine’s in the gym,
training abs and calves (a light session so we could appreciate each other’s
company). I, however, snuck in a
surprise by hiding an entire bag of mini Snickers in his entire house which
surprised me more than him – apparently he hasn’t used a fork in almost a
week. For our Valentine’s date, we
decided to celebrate with an extra person: Vin Diesel.
Yes, Julian and I went to movies to
watch the new XXX movie with Vin Diesel for Valentine’s day, and before anyone
asks, I picked the movie. If you want a
review on the movie itself, well, wait for Box Office. They totally lost us when the dirt bikes “transformed”
into jet skis. Any way...

I didn’t have much time to put a look
together, because I knew what I wanted for my makeup and that took a little
longer than expected. My next post will
be a tutorial on my makeup look, so be sure to check back for that! My outfit was pretty much based on what I
found first in my cupboard. I only
realised while editing my photos that apart from gym wear, I almost only wear
black and white clothes. Hmmm.
My lace crop top and high waisted
leggings are from Edgars. I particularly
love this top because it was the first crop top I ever bought. 2016 was renamed 20-sixpack for me and I was
so proud of what I achieved – not that you need a six pack to wear a crop
top. I didn’t even get a full on six
pack, I just leaned out a lot on my tummy and finally felt comfortable enough
to wear a crop. That being said, if you’re
comfortable wearing a crop top in any shape, good for you!
If you’re interested, my gift from
Julian was so sweet: he bought me a copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard and a
Deathly Hallows pendant. I think I’m so
lucky to have found somebody who pays such close attention to me and my
interests. I am, of course, overlooking
a remark he made last night; I told him I’d been watching The Return of the
King (as in LOTR) before he visited and he proceeded to ask me if it was a
Biblical movie. We’ll just laugh and I’ll
re-educate him on the weekend with a full LOTR marathon.
Thank you so much for coming
back/following my link/googling/anything!
Until next time, wishing you love and
light ♡♡♡
